Dr. Ramesh Venkataraman is American Board certified in Internal Medicine, Critical Care Medicine and Neurocritical Care and is a Fellow of American College of Physicians (FACP), American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP), American College of Critical Care Medicine (FCCM) and Indian College of Critical Care Medicine (FICCM). He has completed a postdoctoral certification in clinical education and has a special interest in medical education including simulation-based education. He has also completed the certificate program in palliative care medicine offered by the Indian Association of Palliative Care and has a keen interest in Critical Care Nephrology and Palliative Care Medicine. He is a Senior consultant at the Department of Critical Care Medicine at Apollo Hospitals, Chennai and the clinical lead for the Neuro Critical Care Unit. He has more than 10 years of experience in tele-ICU with Hicuity Health Care (USA).
Since 2007, he has been an active educator for the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine (ISCCM) and is one of the core organizers for Chennai Chapter’s highly sought-after mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic monitoring and refresher courses. He was also actively involved in the Comprehensive Critical Care Course (4C) and Critical Care Infectious Disease Courses of Indian College of Critical Care Medicine. He served as the general secretary for the Indian College of Critical Care Medicine and the associate editor for the Indian Journal of Critical Care Medicine. He is a peer-reviewer for several national and international journals and has over 60 original peer reviewed publications. He has been an examiner for Indian Diploma (IDCCM) and Fellowship (IFCCM) examinations and an invited faculty in several National and International Conferences.
